Your meals and photos never leave your iPhone. Macros AI has no account, no advertising and no tracking, and never sells your data.
Photos and typed descriptions are analyzed on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence's on-device model, and nutrition labels are read on the device too. They are never uploaded — not to us, not to Apple, not to anyone.
If a photo shows a product's barcode, Macros AI looks the product up in Open Food Facts, an open food database, to get its nutrition. Only the barcode number is sent — never the photo or anything about you. You can turn this off in Settings › Privacy.
Macros AI Pro is sold through the App Store, and Apple handles payment: we never see your payment details or Apple Account.
To keep track of subscriptions, purchase records — which plan, when, and a random ID, never your name, email or meals — are processed by RevenueCat, our subscription provider.
Photos you share to Macros AI from other apps wait in the app's private storage on your iPhone until you open Macros AI, which analyzes them on the device and then deletes the copy. They're never uploaded.
Meals, photos, goals and settings are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's private storage. They're included in your iPhone backups like other app data. Deleting the app deletes them. We have no servers that store your meals, so we can't see, share or lose them.
If you allow it, Macros AI writes each meal's calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat to Apple Health. When you tap Fill from Health, it reads your age, sex, height and weight to suggest goals. If you connect it in Insights, it reads your weight history to show its trend next to your meals. Health data is used only for these features, never for advertising, and never leaves your iPhone through the app. You can change these permissions at any time in Settings › Health.
The camera is used only while you photograph a meal. When you choose a photo, the app receives only that photo, never your library.
